Freedom Alliance is an educational and charitable organization which sponsors numerous program activities aimed at supporting and honoring our service members and their families. Freedom Alliance is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as a public charity organized under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code.
Honor Flight Columbus
Honor Flight is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices. We fly our heroes to Washington, DC to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior veterans – WW II survivors along with those other veterans that may be terminally ill. We are aggressively expanding our programs to other cities across the nation in 2007. Based on recent statistics, we are losing WW II veterans at the rate of 1200 per day. Honor Flight will continue do whatever it takes to fulfill the dreams of our veterans and, very importantly, our senior heroes travel absolutely free. Subsequent to the WW II veterans, our efforts will then focus on our Korean and then Vietnam veterans, honoring them similarly.

Vietnam Veterans of America
The only national Vietnam veteran’s organization congressionally chartered and exclusively dedicated to Vietnam-era veterans and their families. Goals are to promote and support the full range of issues important to Vietnam veterans.

This organization funds and operates programs that service veterans throughout the United States and its territories and possessions to help build better lives for America’s disabled veterans and their families.
Franklin County Veterans Service Commission
Provide advice and assistance to veterans, active duty members of the Armed Forces of the United States, and their dependents in obtaining benefits and entitlements from federal, state, and local agencies; and to provide immediate financial assistance when necessary and appropriate.
Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America

2016 Central Ohio Homeless Veterans Stand Down
Stand Downs typically provide services to homeless Veterans such as food, shelter, clothing, health screenings, VA and Social Security benefits counseling, and referrals to a variety of other necessary services, such as housing, employment and substance abuse treatment.

City of Columbus Department of Veterans Affairs
The City of Columbus, Department of Veterans Affairs’ main priority is to our City Employees and making sure their rights and benefits are being protected. We also sponsor an outreach program for military and veteran’s families called Operation Unity, assist with the local Flag Day ceremonies, Veterans Day, the annual Stand Down program, and provides assistance with referrals.

Ohio Veterans Home Agency
Provides a safe, healthful, home environment for eligible Ohio veterans under the authority of Chapter 5907 of the Ohio Revised Code. The Ohio Veterans Home is dedicated to “serving those who served” with a safe living environment for residents so they can achieve their highest level of functional ability.
National Amputation Foundation
Offers valuable assistance to veterans of World War I, II, Korea, the Vietnam Conflict, Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom. The Foundation has expanded its facilities to include civilian amputees as well.
The Military Order of the Purple Heart
Purpose and objectives —To raise funds for service, welfare, and rehabilitation work in connection with the members of the Military Order of the Purple Heart of the U.S.A. (a congressionally chartered veterans organization), those who are eligible for membership therein, or any wounded, disabled and/or handicapped veteran, his widow, orphan or survivors, For the support and maintenance of liaison services in any or all offices of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, soldier’s homes or other administration of veteran’s affairs wherever and whenever deemed necessary.

MILVETS of Columbus, Ohio
MILVETS purpose is to promote patriotism by conducting, producing and sponsoring public discussions, group forums, panels, lectures, displays, parades, banquets and similar events to create and maintain community awareness of the need for a strong national defense. It was also founded to provide scholarships to ROTC students and military families and to bring together organizations, military associations and MILVETS to accomplish mutual goals. It was also organized to recognize and coordinate contributions to the community by various veteran and active military organizations and individuals.

The Ohio Valley Military Society
The primary endeavor of the Society is to promote the study and collecting of historic military artifacts by sponsoring three regular shows a year in the Ohio Valley area.
The Mesothelioma Group
Information about service-connected exposure to asbestos is essential for veterans who served in all branches of the military. Affected veterans are entitled to compensation and benefits from the Veterans Administration. Veterans are the most at-risk group for developing mesothelioma. They account for 30% of all mesothelioma patients, but only 8% of the entire population. The military’s widespread use of asbestos from the 1930s to the 1970s exposed veterans to large amounts of asbestos containing materials.
